FORMULA 1 SÃO PAULO GP HAS CONFIRMED DATE AND RETURN OF SPRINT IN 2027
The São Paulo stage will be held between November 5 and 7 at the Interlagos Circuit
The Formula 1 São Paulo Grand Prix already has a confirmed date for 2027. The Interlagos Circuit will host the best drivers in the world between November 5 and 7. The calendar was officially announced by Formula 1 management this Wednesday with great news for Brazilian fans: the Sprint race will be back in the state capital next season.
São Paulo will host one of the 10 Sprints scheduled for 2027, in yet another historic milestone for the GP held in the city. The stage holds the record for the number of short races. Including the 2027 calendar, Interlagos will reach six editions of the Sprint. No other stage of the World Championship has hosted this race so many times.
The city had been hosting the fastest race since Formula 1 launched the novelty in 2021. There were five consecutive Sprints, up until 2025. This year, the São Paulo GP will not host the shortest race. But Brazilian fans can already celebrate its return next season, along with nine other stages.
The number of Sprints on the calendar will also be a record for Formula 1. In recent years, only six GPs hosted the event, which is considered an absolute success among fans. According to F1 data, the audience for a weekend with a Sprint race is 12% higher than a traditional weekend. About 82% of the public states that the Sprint adds value to their tickets.
Canada, England, Italy, and Qatar will also return to hosting the fastest race. Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Monaco, and Abu Dhabi will host the Sprint for the first time in 2027.
The general calendar also brings novelties for the next season. There will be two new stages: in Portugal and Turkey. The championship will feature 24 GPs, starting in Bahrain, a country that will also host pre-season testing between February 24 and 27.
The 2027 São Paulo GP maintained its position on the calendar in early November. It will be the 21st stage, before Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi.

The Formula 1 MSC Cruises São Paulo Grand Prix 2026 takes place on November 06, 07, and 08 at the Interlagos Circuit. The tickets made available for the race are sold out. There are still tickets remaining for the F1 Fanzone, which takes place on the same days as the race, at the Ayrton Senna Karting Track, next to the circuit, with an extensive music and entertainment schedule, and official F1 activations, including interaction with F1 drivers.
