About Us

WHO WE ARE

The São Paulo GP is the main recurring event on the Brazilian sports calendar. As one of the stages of the Formula 1 World Championship for drivers and constructors, it is held annually at the Interlagos Circuit, in the city of São Paulo.

In 2021, Brasil Motorsport, a company owned by investment entities controlled by Mubadala, entered into a commercial agreement with Formula 1 to promote the event in Brazil. Mubadala has a long history of investments in diversified sectors, both in Brazil and abroad.

Fully aligned with Formula 1’s guidelines, the São Paulo GP is a promoter of environmental sustainability, respect for diversity, and social inclusion.

WHAT WE DO

In addition to providing quality entertainment, the São Paulo GP offers its partners a powerful platform for brand promotion and engagement.

WHAT WE PROVIDE

Each edition of the São Paulo GP offers leisure for those attending the circuit and benefits for the entire population of São Paulo. In 2023, an audience of 267,000 people attended the three days of the event, generating more than R$1.64 billion for the local economy and creating around 17,000 jobs. Broadcast live to more than 180 countries, it projected São Paulo’s image, generating US$439 million in media returns for the city.

GOVERNANCE, ETHICS, AND TRANSPARENCY

The governance model of Brasil Motorsport was established based on principles such as transparency, role clarity, and stability.

The Board of Directors is responsible for setting the guidelines and monitoring their implementation by the Executive Board.

The standards of conduct and ethics to be observed in relationships with employees, partners, suppliers, the public, and government entities are formalized in an official document.

The company provides a communication channel for reporting complaints, ensuring complete confidentiality of information.

COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT

Formula 1’s guidelines set ambitious goals related to environmental sustainability. In line with these principles, the São Paulo GP develops a series of initiatives to reduce the impact of its operations on the environment.

Carbon Emission Reduction

After conducting a Carbon Emissions Inventory, the São Paulo GP set clear goals for reducing and offsetting emissions.

The event’s CO2 offsetting goes beyond neutralizing 100% of the carbon emissions generated. The São Paulo Grand Prix will remove more CO2 than it emits. The carbon credits generated will go directly to the Amazon Rainforest and the Caieiras Sustainable Valorization Unit in São Paulo.

Waste Management

As part of its journey, the São Paulo GP implemented actions to reduce waste generation, ensure proper disposal, and recycle solid waste.

Some of the initiatives include:

  • Certified disposal of the tire containment barriers;
  • Processing used motor oil from teams participating in the São Paulo GP, which is returned to the market as high-performance base oil;
  • Using organic waste as fertilizer for community gardens;
  • Directing beverage containers to recycling cooperatives;
  • Transforming tarpaulins and plastic waste into bags and decorative items.

Clean Energy Production and Use

The São Paulo GP built a photovoltaic plant at the Interlagos Circuit to produce energy from sunlight. This plant will be a permanent legacy for the City of São Paulo. A renewable energy source, it will directly contribute to addressing future energy challenges, reduce the carbon footprint generated by events held at the Circuit, and generate savings for the city.

Waste Sorting Center

Another important environmental initiative was the construction of a Waste Sorting Center, which will allow for efficient separation of solid waste. This facility will serve all events held at the Interlagos Circuit, providing another contribution to the population of São Paulo.

In addition to preserving the environment, the Sorting Center directly contributes to the well-being of the surrounding community. Local cooperatives will handle the proper disposal of recyclables, turning waste into income.

COMMITMENT TO PEOPLE

The São Paulo Formula 1 Grand Prix is firmly committed to people and respect for differences. We do not tolerate discriminatory practices based on race, gender, creed, or sexual orientation. We also condemn any form of moral or sexual harassment. This stance is reflected in guidelines shared with all our stakeholders, including employees, suppliers, and service providers.

The Workshop is Also a Place for Women

The management of the São Paulo GP believes in and promotes actions aimed at creating a diverse and welcoming work environment. To that end, it provides mechanic training for women in socially vulnerable situations in the Interlagos region. The goal is to introduce them to a traditionally male-dominated market, thereby increasing diversity in the industry. The course is conducted by the “Escola do Mecânico” institution and includes both theoretical and practical lessons.

As part of the project, graduates visit the Interlagos Circuit during the event week for a guided tour of the pit area and track. So far, 150 women have completed the program.
